Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late John and Dot Smith Jackson. He was a member of Ware Place Church of God, and was retired from his work as a weaver at Fountain Inn Cotton Mill.
In addition to his wife of the home, Mr. Carson is survived by two daughters: Michelle Dutton and LeShawn Carson; his brother Steve Jackson; his sister Becky Jackson; four grandchildren: Clifton Carson (Destiny), Rickey Todd (Kylie), Justin Todd (Alexis) and Breana Mull; and five great-grandchildren: Walker Carson, Ivy Todd, Christopher Todd, Jasmine Todd, and River Todd.
A family memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 15 at Columbia Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service at the social hall.
