Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late Jim Franklin and Eva Christian Smith. She was such a beautiful, kind, loving soul who never met a stranger. She worked cotton fields, was a homemaker, flower-lover, and raised twelve children She was also a vet widow. She opened her home to many and shared all that she had. She was a member of Ware Shoals Church of God of Prophecy, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Mary is survived by five sons: Sammy Dutton and wife Shirley, Kenneth Dutton and wife Katherine, Robert Dutton, Dennis Dutton and wife Lisa, and Jeffrey Dutton; four daughters: Julia Suttle and husband Preston, Mary Coleman and husband Walt, Debra Driver, and Sheila Powell and husband Arnold; her grandchildren and six generations of great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Raymond Dutton, and two daughters: Patsy Freeman and Nancy Dutton.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories.
