Allie “Honey” Ashley

Allie Mae “Honey” Smith Ashley, 93, widow of the late Daniel Hampton Ashley, entered her heavenly home, Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC. 

 

Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Ziffie C. Smith and Faye Shope Smith. She was predeceased by her son, Danny R. Ashley. Mrs. Ashley was also the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her beloved twin, Lillie Truelove, and her other cherished siblings, Grace Barnell, Aubrey “Brook” Smith, Clifford “Chick” Smith, and Sherron Coleman. 

Allie was a devoted and treasured wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She adored her two children, Judy and Danny, her granddaughter, Ashley Pruitt, and her great-granddaughter, Allie Grace Pruitt, who was her namesake. She was a precious mother teaching her children to love and to be kind.

Allie served the Lord faithfully all of her life. She was a dedicated prayer warrior and a member of Southside Baptist Church in Honea Path, SC. She enjoyed serving in the Children’s Ministry and was a member of the Leottis Sunday School Class and WMU. 

Allie believed in hardwork. She retired from AnMed Health as a Radiology Transporter. She also later retired from Dixie High School and The Maples where she worked in EVS. She was a loyal caregiver and servant to many. 

Surviving are her daughter, Judy Wilson (Mike) of Belton, granddaughter, Ashley Pruitt (Pat), Missy Langston (Jason), her great-granddaughter, Allie Grace Pruitt and great-grandson Steele.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to The Maples, Hospice of the Upstate, and the many family and friends who were faithful and supportive. 

The family will receive friends at 10:00 on Friday morning at Pruitt Funeral Home in Honea Path, SC with the service following at 11:00 in the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dr. Ron Culbertson will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.
