Born in Anderson County, he was a son of Jimmie Sue Sharpton Brewer of Anderson and Barbara Ann Ashley of Honea Path, and the late Barry Benjamin Ashley, Sr. He was a member of Keowee Baptist Church and was the retired owner and operator of Anderson Frozen Foods after 40 years of service.

Surviving in addition to his mothers and his loving wife of the home are: his son, Benjamin Floyd (Ashley) Ashley of Honea Path; two daughters, Laurie (Eric) Jefferson and Tracy Ashley-Shirley, both of Honea Path; his brother, Mark (Mona) Ashley of Honea Path; seven grandchildren, Anna Ashley, Mattison (Josh) Shirley Elliott, Katie Ashley, Taylor Shirley, Turner Ashley, Drake Shirley, and Luke Jefferson, and his special faithful companion, Sadie.

Mr. Ashley was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Deborah Lee Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Keowee Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Lee and Rev. Marshall Fagg officiating.

The family will be at the home of his daughter, Laurie Jefferson, 510 Will Hanks Road, Honea Path and will receive friends from 2-3 P.M. Sunday at the church prior to the service.
