Born in Lubbock, TX, he was a son of Deborah Ladene Sanders Elliott. He was of the Methodist Faith and was formerly employed by Woodland Place. He was a 1988 graduate of Lubbock High School, Lubbock, TX, and studied and received an AA degree from Victoria College, Victoria, TX. He later attended Spartanburg Community College. He last served as a nursing director at the Woodland Place. He loved football, especially the Carolina Panthers, Carolina Gamecocks, and the Texas Longhorns.
Surviving are his mother, Deborah Elliott of Lubbock, TX, a son, Shawn Aidan Kyle Long and his mother, Sondra Tew Green of Spartanburg, Andrew William Clarence Green (McKenna) of Boiling Springs, Ashley Megan Tew VanDeusen (Branden) of Greer, a brother Joshua Rachels (Melinda) of Kannapolis, NC, a sister Aunna Rachels of Concord, NC, three nephews, and a niece.
Memorial services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Ben Avon United Methodist Church with Rev. Jones Brewer and Rev. Jeff Blackwood officiating.
The family is at their respective homes and will speak to friends at the church after the service. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to Ben Avon United Methodist Church, 2360 Avondale Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
