He was born February 8,1949 in Anderson, SC to the late James C. and Hazel Phillips Holliday. Jimmy graduated from Belton-Honea Path High School, class of 1969. He served in the United States Army Reserves from 1971-1978. Jimmy married Debbie Dixon on June 21, 1971 in Laurens, South Carolina. He grew a successful flooring, wallpaper, and painting business. It is often said that “if something could be fixed, Jimmy would fit it”.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Holliday, of 52 years; sister Dianne Lollis; 2 sons Kevin Holliday of Belton, South Carolina and Jeff Holliday(Heather) of Anderson, South Carolina; and 2 grandchildren Ashton Holliday of Anderson, South Carolina and Thomas Holliday(Laura) of Orange, California.
Jimmy was a part of the worshipping community of Cross Hill Church of God for over 40 years. If Jimmy wasn’t hard at work with his business, you could typically find him fishing or hunting. Jimmy loved raising chickens and goats and growing heirloom corn. Jimmy was a hardworking, faithful, and tender man. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 2 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson with Rev. Larry Richardson and Rev. Gary Hart officiating.
