Born in Abbeville he was a son of the late Roy Charles and Eva Wright Anderson. He was a member of Ware Shoals First Baptist Church and was retired from Rocky River Calhoun Falls Plant. A 1957 graduate of Ware Shoals High School, he also retired as Master Sergeant after over 20 years in the South Carolina Army National Guard. He had worked for Riegel Textile of Ware Shoals for over 20 years until its closing and was a member of the Ware Shoals Volunteer Fire Department.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce, of the home, three daughters, Kim Watson (Kim) of Pelzer, Andrea Lorentz (Tony) of Laurens, and Shae Campbell of Ware Shoals, five grandchildren, Heath Lee (Brandy), Heather Lee Smith (Leroy), Kela Dunlap(Barrie), Kaitlin Evans (Dalton), and Brianna Campbell, and six great-grandchildren, Aiden, Larkin, Oliver, Emerson, Davis, and Lucas.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Nancy Sue Allen and Catherine Grace Anderson.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Parker-White Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Nix and Rev. Dr. Floyd Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 1 PM on Thursday at Parker-White Funeral Home prior to the service.
