Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late John Virgil, Sr., and Ollie Eula Mae Lowe Elgin. She was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church and retired from Metric Sewing and Torrington. Peg loved her church and her Lord and wanted all to know the Lord. She enjoyed cutting grass, riding her lawn mower well into her nineties. However, her biggest enjoyment was her family.

Surviving are: her son, James Ferrell “Buddy” (Tonya) McGaha of Greenwood; her sister, Kathryn Woodson of Belton; her former daughter-in-law, Mary Alice McGaha of Belton; her grandchildren, Stacy (Barry) Porter, Jason (Crystal) McGaha, Hunter (Jamie) McGaha and Casey (Nathan) Powell; her great-grandchildren, Zayne (Krisha) McGaha, Carson (Lauren) McGaha, Brantlee (James) Calhoun and Allie McGaha; and her great-great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Dru McGaha, Braxton McGaha, Ryleigh Green, Carter McGaha, Sawyer McGaha, Haysten McGaha, Wrenleigh McGaha, Kyler Calhoun, Tucker Calhoun, Letty Calhoun, Laken Calhoun, and Baby Calhoun, due soon.

Mrs. McGaha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 33 years; her brother, John Elgin; and two sisters, Annie Igou and Elizabeth Elgin.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Friday, April 12, 2024 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Ron Culbertson and Rev. Mark Kreiger officiating. Burial will follow in Barkers Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family is at the home and will receive friends from 2-3 P.M. Friday at Pruitt Funeral Home prior to the service.
