Born in Laurens county, he was a son of the late Walter Barrett and Sara Coker Davenport. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a retired Paint Contractor.
Surviving are two sons, Roger Dale Davenport, Jr. (Shawn) of Donalds and Barrett Davenport (Diedra) of Waterloo, a daughter, Nancy Alexander (Layne) of Kersey, two brothers Donnie Bumgardner (Kay) and Nicholas Bumgardner, both of Waterloo, five grandchildren, Christopher, Dylan (Nicole), Brandon, Samantha (Luke) and Alayna, and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Davenport Hannah.
Memorial services will be held at 3 PM on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Mt. Gallagher Baptist Church, Ware Shoals with Rev. Nathan Wiles, Rev. Dr. Marcus Bishop and Rev. Dr. Sandra Smith officiating.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends after the service at Mt. Gallagher Baptist Church.
