A native of Laurens County she was a daughter of the late Otis Elijah Dorn and Mary O’Shields Butler. She was a member of South Greenwood Pentecostal Holiness Church. After her retirement from Richloom of Ware Shoals, she had love and compassion for all the elderly she served as caretaker. She was always active with her family and grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband, Cecil, of the home, a daughter, Teresa B. “Terri” Smith of Hodges, a son, Bishop Samuel Ray Boggs (Alison) of Greenwood, a half-brother, Danny Ray Butler of Ware Shoals, two half-sisters, Robbie McAllister (Gene) and Helen O’Dell (Bill) both of Ware Shoals, six grandchildren, Chris Smith, Hannah Smith, Brett Boggs, Bryson Boggs, Braden Boggs, and Braelyn Boggs, two great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Virginia Boggs of Ware Shoals, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a son Michael Scott Boggs, her step-father, Robert Butler, and a sister, Norma Jean Stewart.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, March 25, 2024 at the Ware Shoals Pentecostal Holiness Church with Bishop Ray Boggs, Pastor Anthony Irby, Dr. Terry Bailey, and Mr. Tim Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home of her son, Ray Boggs, 103 Gentry Run, Greenwood, SC 29649 and will receive friends from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM on Monday at the Ware Shoals Pentecostal Holiness Church prior to the service.
