Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late John and Ruth Cooley Chapman. He was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, a US Air Force Vietnam Era Veteran, and was retired from Ryder Truck Rental of Greenville.
Surviving are his wife of the home, a son Joey Chapman of Belton, a daughter, Heather Seawright (Billy) of Donalds, three step-sons, Dwayne Chandler (Denise) of Greensboro, NC, Jay Chandler (Katherine) of Salem, VA, and Steve Chandler (Carolyn) of Greensboro, NC, a step-daughter, Tammi Taylor (Mike) of Craytonville, a brother, Jerald Chapman (Eleanor) of Belton, fifteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, a step-daughter, Josie Chandler Payne, a brother, Johnny Chapman, and a sister, Linda Richey.
Graveside services Military Honors will be held at 1 P.M. Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Greenville Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mark Krieger officiating.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
