Born in Honea Path, she was a daughter of the late J.B. and Elsie Cannon Gilmer. She retired from Zeke’s Country Store. Gloria was a volunteer firefighter with Sandy Springs Fire Department and a member of the Pendleton Rescue Squad.
Surviving in addition to her devoted husband of 60 years of the home are: four daughters, Lisa (Neil) Bush of AL, Paula Jordan (Jan) Jones of Anderson, Sonya (Billy) Wheeler of Anderson and Michelle Thomas of Anderson; two brothers, Mike (Teresa) Gilmer of Honea Path and James Barron (Judy) Gilmer of Donalds; her sister, Sandy (Frankie) Phillips of Honea Path; ten grandchildren, including David Black, Jacob Black, and Kera Snipes; twenty great-grandchildren, including Aliana Anderson; and special niece, Stacy Branyon.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Randy Gilmer, Dennis Gilmer, and Roger Gilmer.
Memorial services will be held at 12 Noon Wednesday January 31, 2024 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Patrick Brock officiating.
