Born in Honea Path, he was a son of the late Talmadge Dewitt and Margaret Pauline Hall Mahon. He was a member of Honea Path First Baptist Church and had worked as a meat cutter at several grocery stores over the years.

Surviving are: two sons, Chris (Jean) Mahon of Abbeville and Jamie Mahon of Greenwood; his companion, Deborah Morrow of Lincolnton GA; three sisters, Jane (Lowell) Taylor of Gray Court, Peggy Tyner of Honea Path, and Faye Burdette of Anderson; three grandchildren, Randy Mahon, Tyler Mahon, and Kristin Mahon; and his uncle, Dean Hall of N. Augusta.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Michelle Motes, and his brother, Roger Mahon.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Josh Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery.
