Born in Laurens county, she was a daughter of the late John Oscar and Bertha Lee Russell McCoy of Ware Shoals. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she was active in the choir and served as church secretary. She was a graduate of Ware Shoals High School and was an avid gardener. She retired from the US Postal Service, Ware Shoals Office.
Surviving are two sons, Anthony Ross (Rosemary) and Gene Ross (Jeannie) both of Ware Shoals, five grandchildren, Danny Ross (Christa), Amanda Ross, Cameron Ross, Monica Smith (McKiver), and Micayla Ross, and six great-grandchildren, Mason, Raygan, Silas, Henley, Rook, and Clary.
She was predeceased by her husband, parents, and five brothers; Melvin, Furman, Bobby, A.J., and Barney McCoy, and two sisters; Ollie Smith and Dorothy Mills.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Ware Shoals with Rev. Lamar Babb and Rev. Byron Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
