Mrs. O’Dell was born in Laurens County, a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Ruby Lee Pitts Culbertson. She was retired from Laurens Glass Works and was a member of Mt. Gallagher Baptist Church. She was a member of the Boyd Bobo Chapter #144 Order of the Eastern Star.

A loving mother and grandmother, she cherished her family and was always willing to help in any way needed. She loved her church family and always enjoyed and appreciated their calls and visits.

Surviving are two daughters; Miriam “Midge” Hill and husband, Dr. Joe Hill of Gilbert, SC and Kathy O’Dell Koons and husband Robert Koons of Waterloo, SC; a son Scott Pilgrim (Heather) Ware Shoals SC, a sister Hazel Culbertson Leonard of Mauldin, SC, three grandchildren, Abby Pilgrim of Ware Shoals, Kade Pilgrim of Ware Shoals, and Jed Hill (Tanya) of Portland, OR, six great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. 

She was predeceased by a brother, James Robert Culberson, two sisters, Sybil Crowson, and Marie Pitts, and two grandchildren, Angela Hill Fournier and Crystal Pilgrim Davis. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Mt Gallagher Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Marcus Bishop and Rev. Nathan Wiles officiating.Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at Mt.
