Born in Budingen, Germany, he was a son of the late James Douglas and Carolyn Thackston McClain. He was a member of Gethsemane Church, Hodges, where he was active in the Praise Team, Broken Chains, and Celeberate Recovery. He was a 1979 graduate of Wrenn High School.
Surviving are a sister, Kristi M. Davis of Lexington, nieces and nephews, Daniel Johnson, Kelly Patterson, Joseph McClain, and Justin Davis, and several great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Kevin Bruce McClain, a sister, Kathi M. Johnson, and a niece, Brandi Moore.
A Memorial/Worship service will be held at 10:30 AM on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Gethsemane Church, Hodges with Rev. Mark Lowe officiating.
