Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late John Wilson and Emma Lou Lockaby Bayne. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she served as Choir Director, President of WMU, GA leader, and Sunday school teacher. She was a graduate of J.L. Mann High School and the S.C. Police Academy. She was employed by the Ware Shoals Police Dept. and retired from Greenwood County Emergency Communications Department.
Surviving are her husband, Bill, two sons, Rev. Mike Smith (Faith) of Simpsonville, Mark Smith of Ware Shoals, and a daughter, Angie Smith of Ware Shoals, four grandchildren, Anna Faith, Emma Grace, Chris (Sarah), and Devin (Jaliyah), and two great-grandchildren, Lane and Annlin and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, and a sister, Nancy Bayne Smith.
Memorial services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Mike Smith, Rev. Greg Nix, and Rev. Lamar Babb officiating.
The family is at the home and will receive friends after the service at the church.
