Born in Rutherfordton, NC, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth “Pete” and Billie Cobb Underwood. She was a member of Callie Self Baptist Church and was a 1966 graduate of Greenwood High School. She was retired from Self Regional Hospital after serving as a ward secretary for 22 years.
Surviving are a son Danny Robert Kennedy, Jr. (Melinda) of Abbeville, a daughter Amanda Kennedy Christian (Vince) of Greenwood, a son-in-law, James Smith of Laurens, two sisters, Marynell Underwood Ledford(Leland) and Cammie Underwood, both of Waterloo, and six grandchildren, Wesley, Lauren, Katherine, Emily, Sara, and Claire.
She loved her grandchildren more than anything, along with her beloved dog Bentley.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a daughter, Wendy Kennedy Smith, and a sister, Melody Underwood.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Parker-White Funeral Home Chapel, Ware Shoals with Dr. Bill Cashion officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
