Born in Abbeville, he was a son of the late Luther Benjamin, Jr. and Barbara Ann Gambrell Chadwick. Gerald was a graduate of Dixie High School. He was a member of Austin Road Baptist Church and retired from The Torrington Company. Gerald loved his Harley Davidson and attending the monthly meetings at Timms Harley Davidson in Anderson. He enjoyed going to the lake and fishing with his brother.
Surviving are: a step-son, Tony (Cathy) Ruth, Jr. of Belton; two step-daughters, Wendy Stevens (Raymond Gill) of Belton and Dianne Saxton of Honea Path; his brother, Donnie Chadwick of Waterloo; two sisters, Debbie Bell of Honea Path and Lynn (Jimmy) McCall of Honea Path; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Slatten officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 2-3 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd, Anderson, SC 29621.
