Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Lawrence Clifton and Lillian Deck Taylor. He served in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of Ware Shoals United Methodist Church, a 75 year member of the Princeton Lodge # 129 A.F.M. and a member of the Hejaz Shrine Temple. He retired from Moores Business Forms of Greenwood.
Surviving are two sons, Len Taylor (Shelia) of Ware Shoals and Bruce Taylor of Columbia, three grandchildren, Lance Taylor, Allison Taylor and Tammy Moody and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Mack Taylor and two sisters, June Cheatham and Joann Knight.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, which would have been his 97th birthday, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Hodges, with Rev. Byron Wood officiating.
