Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late James Willie and Jeannie Ruth Ridge Mitchell. He was a member of Donalds Baptist Church and was retired from Monsanto where he worked in Maintenance for 35 years. He was a life member and past master of Donalds Lodge #23 A.F.M. and the Hejaz Shrine Temple.
Surviving are his wife, Judy, of the home, two sons, Stacy Mitchell (Charity) of Donalds, and Brian Mitchell (Kelli) of Donalds, and four grandchildren, Andrew, Alana, Landon, and Lauren Mitchell. He was predeceased by two sisters, Betty Ashley and Shelby Cowan. He also leaves behind his fur-babies, Cookie and Buddy.
Memorial services will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Donalds Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Sturkie officiating.
