Born in Honea Path, she was a daughter of the late William Edgar and Mary Anderson Knight.  She was the first Plant Metallurgist at Torrington, Inc., where she worked for many years. She was an active member of the Honea Path Church of God where she was recently honored as the longest-standing member.

She was loving and devoted to her family. Surviving are her son William “Maxie” Phillips (Cathy) of Rock Hill;  her two daughters: Abby McClain (David) of Belton and Amy Wilson (Andy) of Anderson; two brothers: William Knight of Williamston and Kenneth Knight (Patricia) of Honea Path; two sisters: Peggy Wright of Anderson and Jo Moore (Brud) of Pendleton; five grandchildren: Emily Mahaffey, Paul McClain (Megan), Luke McClain (Sydney), Erin McClain, and Sloane Moyer (Mic); and five great-grandchildren: Sarah Ellen McClain, John McClain, Asa McClain, Charleigh Kate Moyer, and Andi Grace Moyer.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother Charles Knight and her sister Carolyn Cummings.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Honea Path Church of God with Rev. Eric Shuler and Rev. Charlie Driggers officiating. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories.
