Born in Honea Path, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Fred and Isabelle Allison Banister. She was a member of the Honea Path First Baptist Church where she served as organist for 21 years and had taught the Jewel Shirley Sunday School Class.

A graduate of Honea Path High School, she received an AA degree from Lander College and an BA degree from USC of Spartanburg.  Thru the years she worked in early elementary education and day care, in marketing for Duke Power Co. of Spartanburg, and was a full time substitute teacher for Anderson District #2.

She is survived by  a son Tim Anderson (Beverly) of Holden Beach, NC, a daughter, Alison Anderson of Honea Path, a sister, Lynna Beeks (Randy) of Belton, four grandchildren, Christian Kenworthy, Lauren Eanes (Ben), Benjamin Anderson (Ashley), and Matthew Anderson (Addi), seven great-grandchildren, Anderson, Bennett, Ellis, Brittley, Charles, Franklin, and Elizabeth, beloved neice, Lacinda McCormick (Steve), nephew, William "Billy" Banister, and uncle Jack Allison.

In addition to her husband and her parents she was predeceased by a brother William David Banister.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at the Honea Path First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Moody and Mr. Tim Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday at Pruitt Funeral Home, Honea Path.
