Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late Ralston Benson and Mellie Lee Mayfield Brooks. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on June 18, 1954, and remained very active in the local congregation. She worked for Owens-Corning Fiberglass, and for Monsanto, and was self-employed for a number of years.
She is survived by her sister Jo Ann Pruitt of Anderson, and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers: James, Charles, Jack, Hulon, Tim, Danny and Olin Brooks; and three sisters: Helen Brown, Sue Crocker, and Elinor Martin.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at a later date.
