Born April 16, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Whitt Brooks and Sadie Campbell Nelson. She was the widow of the late Jerry B. Harvey, Jr.

Mrs. Harvey was a graduate of Honea Path High School, class of 1945, where she served as Salutatorian of her class. She was retired from Chiquola Manufacturing Company. She was a long-time member of Chiquola United Methodist Church having taught both youth and adult women classes. She was a member of the Chiquola UMW having served as president for many years. Mrs. Harvey was active in the Honea Path Community delivering Meals on Wheels and volunteering at the Honea Path Free Clinic for many years. She was an avid flower gardener. a pastime that she greatly enjoyed. She enjoyed many years of daily walking with a special group of friends.

She is survived by a daughter, Sara Ellen Redd (Johnny) of Honea Path, a grandson, Carl Redd (Renna), and a granddaughter, Ellen Redd of Pickens, SC, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Harvey was preceded in death by a brother, Malcolm Nelson and sisters, Vivian Nelson, Louise Nelson, and Dorothy Nelson McCall.

Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, October 16, 2022 at The Garden of Memories with Rev. Jones Brewer officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Chiquola United Methodist Church, Anderson County Meals on Wheels, The Honea Path Free Clinic, or to a charity of one’s choice.

The family thanks the staff at The Maples for their care, kindness, and love shown to her while she was a resident there. The family also thanks her Hospice of the Upstate care team.
