Born in Belton, he was a son of the late Thomas Arabian, Jr., and Dorothy Rutledge Cothran. He was a member of Cedar Shoals Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a former home builder and co-owner of Cothran’s Military Surplus. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, telling stories, spending time with his customers and family and went out of his way to help others.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 50 years of the home are: his children, Tammy (Steve) Vaughn, Tommy Cothran, IV, Scotty (Wendy) Cothran, Mandi (Jeff) Clark, Ashley (Nathan) Oakley, and Jesse (Melissa) Cothran; his grandchildren, HollyAnna Christian Vaughn, Jessica (Kobe) Baxley, Madalynn Vaughn, Ashlynn Vaughn, Katie (Zach) Greer, Dawson Cothran, Jordan (Kimlyn) Cothran, Stephanie (Chase) Singleton, Allison Clark, Caitlynn Clark, Lilli Oakley, Merrin Oakley, Skyler Cothran, and Willow Cothran; three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Baxley, Kruz Cothran, and Cullen Singleton; his siblings, Michael (JoAnn) Cothran, Jerry (Sharon) Cothran, Gary Cothran, Douglas Cothran, Donna (Billy) Campbell, Vicki (Alan) Coker, Yvonne (Greg) Darnell, and Joann (Gene) Yates; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Pruitt Funeral Home with Rev. Stan Candler officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Garden of Memories.
