Born in Honea Path, she was a daughter of the late J C and Helen Brooks Robinson. She was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church and a retired secretary. Mrs. Hanks loved her flowers, birds, reading, and jigsaw puzzles, but mostly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her devoted husband of 65 years of the home are: a son, Scott (DeeDee) Hanks of Anderson; her daughter, Lindy (Gary) Shaw of Starr; four grandchildren, Casey (Jason) Martin, Travis (Kayla) Hanks, Reese (Leann) Shaw, and Jake (Harley) Shaw; ten great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hanks was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Anthony Ray Hanks; her sister, Gloria Edwards Scott; and a great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday June 26, 2022 at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mark Kreiger, Rev. Dr. Ron Culbertson, and Rev. Jonathan Neely officiating.
The family is at the home and will receive friends after the service at the graveside.
