Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Clyde Junior and Jerelean Agnes Campbell McClain. He was a member of Donalds Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was employed by the City of Anderson as the Cemetery Supervisor of Silverbrook Cemetery. He was a member of Centre Lodge #37 A.F.M. He was an avid Gamecock fan. Rickey was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and a hard worker. He always put others above himself and “just wanted everybody to be happy.”
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 27 years of the home are: his son, Austin (Ashton Johnson) McClain of the home; his daughter, Hayley (Justin) Smith of Honea Path ; two brothers, Dennis (Elaine) McClain of Pelzer and Jackie (Kathy) McClain of Piedmont; two sisters, Connie Brock of Honea Path, and Donna Hoffstetter of Belton; two grandchildren, Madison Smith and Jayden Smith; and many other special family members.
Rickey was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Tony Randall McClain; and two sisters, Judy Earline McClain and Debbie Hilton.
Funeral services will be held at 4 P.M. Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Donalds Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Sturkie, Rev. Mark Duncan, and Rev. Carroll Plemmons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
