Born in Honea Path, he was the son of the late Johnny Malcolm and Frances Davis Pitts. He was a member of Chiquola Baptist Church. Jimmy was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant with more than 20 years of service to his country. He was twice married, first to the late Patricia Ann Dodson Pitts.
Surviving are: two sons, Malcolm Dodson Pitts of Simpsonville and Christopher Scott Pitts of Honea Path; a step-son, John Coats, VI of New York City; two daughters, Jamie Ann Durham of Honea Path and Karmin Leigh (Bradley) Burgess of Seneca; two step-daughters, Gloria Louis-Fils of MO and Joy (Asher) Alexander of Anderson; his sister, Patricia (Arthur) Cox of Honea Path; seventeen grandchildren; twenty five great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and special friends, Miriam Branyon and Doyle Griffin, both of Honea Path and Gail New of Belton.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Friday, January 14, 2022 at Chiquola Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Smith and Rev. Phillip Sears officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Eastview Cemetery.
