Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Rev. William Otis and Blanche Beatrice Mattison Davenport. He was a member of Burdine Road Church of God, where he dearly loved his church family, and retired from Spring Industries. Mr. Davenport also worked at Riegel Textiles in Ware Shoals and later in life, owned his own grass cutting service. He loved traditional gospel music, his Kubota tractor, and enjoyed collecting LP’s.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of the home are: his son, Randy Davenport of Donalds; three brothers, John Daniel (Karen) Davenport of Donalds, Luther Perry (Diane) Davenport and Paul Timothy (Rosemary) Davenport, both of Honea Path; two sisters, Wanda Faye (Kevin) Walker of Cross Hill, and Jennelle Sizemore of Donalds; and his dearly loved fur baby, Dolly.
Mr. Davenport was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenneth Stanley Davenport and William Earle Davenport; and a sister, Joyce Beatrice Davenport.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Hospice of the Upstate and to the many friends and family who sent countless prayers and phone calls during his illness.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Curtis Lanier and Rev. Donnie Norris officiating. Burial will follow in Donalds Baptist Church Cemetery.
