Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Paul Franklin and Eula Edwards Traynham. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and retired from Generations Group Home. She was formerly the PTO Leader at Cherokee Trails Elementary School in Donalds. She loved baking wedding cakes.
Surviving in addition to her devoted husband of 65 years of the home are: her son, Tony Cooley of Honea Path; two daughters, Vicki (Jay) Lown of Due West and Krista Brock of Honea Path; a sister, Helen (Ralph) Smith of Ware Shoals; two sister's-in-law, Violet Davis of Ware Shoals and Faye Cooley of Laurens; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cooley was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James Franklin Traynham and Berlin Ouzt; four sisters, Gatha Martin, Hazel Abercrombie, Eva Nell Gunnells, and Sara Mae Martinez; and two great-grandchildren, Braxton and Kassidy.
Memorial services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Nix officiating.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Saturday at the church following the service.
