Born in Honea Path, he was a son of the late Oscar and Mader McDonald McGaha. He was a member of Honea Path Pentecostal Holiness Church and a US Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was a retired barber from Bill’s Barber Shop, and also retired from Jackson Mills of Iva where he worked as a loom fixer. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are: his son, Paul (Melissa) McGaha of Donalds; two daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Allen of West Pelzer and Amanda (Paul) Gawel of Easley; and two grandchildren, Lauran McGaha and Troy Allen.
Mr. McGaha was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; five brothers, Charlie, Ralph, Curly, Malcolm (“Cooterbill”), and Dennis McGaha; and three sisters, Eula Mae Whitman, Juanita Martin, and Grace Norris.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Garden of Memories with Rev. Ted Coody and Rev. Shane Elrod officiating.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. Mr. McGaha will be available for viewing at Pruitt Funeral Home on Friday.
