Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Edgar Donald “Doc” and Clara Bell Lollis Ashley. He was a member of Donalds Church of God and the owner of S & W Contractors. He enjoyed playing music and the guitar. Baby Doll loved his family, his friends, and go kart racing, but above all he loved his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 48 years of the home are: his daughter, Michelle (Travis) Kunkle of Honea Path; four brothers, Jimmy (Annette) Ashley, Wendall (Polly) Ashley, Danny Mac (Sharon) Ashley and Donnie Wayne Ashley, all of Honea Path; three grandchildren, Justin Ashley, Tyler Davis, and Magan Kunkle; two step-grandchildren, Justin and Austin Kunkle; and two great-grandchildren, Jayln and Kaydn Ashley.
Baby Doll was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Kenneth Ashley, and his sister, Peggy Davis.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday June 5, 2021 at Pruitt Funeral Home with Rev. James Ray Lollis and Rev. Mike Epps officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery.
The family is at the home of his daughter, 208 Eastview St. Honea Path, and will receive friends from 12 – 2 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
