Born in Black Mountain, NC, she was a daughter of the late Mack and Ruby Gibbs McLaughlin. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and a retired seamstress.
Surviving in addition to her devoted husband of 62 years of the home are: her son, Ronald (Teresa) Gambrell of Honea Path; her daughter, Patricia Lynn Whitfield of Honea Path; two sisters, Peggy Owens of Statesville, NC and Betty (Jerry) Hammond of Anderson; seven grandchildren, Nicole, Brandy, Audrey, Holly, Angel (Ted), Jay (Joyce), and Jonathan; and fourteen great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Brooklyn, Marissa, Dominique, Kyra, Kenzlee, Miles, Catlin, Emilly, Micheal, David, Taylor (Katie), Christian (Dillon), and Jacob.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Friday. May 28, 2021 at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Rickey Knight officiating.
