Born in Geneva NY, he was a son of the late Floyd and Marie Judson Vanhouter.
Surviving are: his girlfriend of 31 years, Betty Diane Hicks of the home; his step-daughter, Annette Hicks; a brother, Bruce Wheeler of Sandy Springs; two sisters, Karen Jones of Pickens and Diane Barber of NY; nieces and nephews, Melissa Grimmette, Jamie Stevenson, Jason Stevenson, Aretha Vanhouter, Michelle Newell and Daniel Vanhouter. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald Wheelers and Floyd Vanhouter.
