Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ethel Juanita Jackson Clamp. She had formerly worked at Dr. Pendergrass’ office in Ware Shoals and had retired from the Greenwood Children’s Center. She was twice married, first to the late Bud Covan. Sandra was a devoted and loving “MaMa” to her many cats, especially to her “BaeBae”.
Surviving in addition to her loving and devoted husband of 13 years of the home are: her son, Chad Covan of Honea Path; three step-sons, Robby, James, and Donnie Nelson; a step-daughter, Dwan Oliver; her brother, Joe (Rene) Clamp of Greenwood; two sisters, Sara (Byron) Wood and Sally Davis, both of Ware Shoals; 12 step-grandchildren, 2 step-great-grandchildren, and 1 due in May; and many numerous nieces and nephews, who affectionately called her “Crazy Sandra”, whom she all loved dearly.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, and a sister, Susan Parelle.
Memorial services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Parker-White Funeral Home. Mask and social distancing will be required.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 2-3 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Greenwood Humane Society, 2820 Airport Rd, Greenwood, SC 29649.
