Born in Anderson County, he was son of the late Emory Caruth and Eunice Purdy Loftis. A lifelong resident of Iva, he was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Bob was known to his family and community as a sincere God fearing man. He was a veteran of the SC Army National Guard. His grandchildren, Gabrielle and Justin, continue to remember their grandfather’s memory with a fond reminder that they will once again see him at home in the Lord’s big blue sky. Bob, having years ago worked in the previous Jackson Mill of Iva, South Carolina, has known many people in which he’s made lasting relationships with. His family and friends also think of Bob and his big love for the Lord. While in sadness, they are full of joy that the Lord has given to Bob in sending him to the place he truly belongs.
Surviving are: his son, Bobby Joe (Amanda) Loftis, Jr. of Honea Path; a step-son, Charles W. Ashley of Iva; two step-daughters, Robin Jones and Darlene A. (Andy) Latham, both of Iva, his sister, Ellen Holbrooks of Iva; his sister-in-law, Juanita Loftis of Iva; and two grandchildren, Gabrielle Faith Loftis and Justin Alexander Loftis.
Mr. Loftis was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Clifton Loftis.
