Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Harvey Thomas Sr. and Helen Watts Haynes. He attended Burdine Road Church of God of Anderson.
He is survived by one son, Joshua Haynes of Cowpens, two daughters, Betty Jean “B.J.” Simmons (Chris) of Honea Path and Nichole Brown (Jon) of Anderson, two sisters, Carolyn Davenport (Erskine) of Donalds and Debbie Jo Bagwell of Honea Path, six grandchildren, Abby, J.T., Gracie, Cameron, McKayla, and Halley, and one great grandson, Dustin. He was also survived by two special nephews, Randy Davenport and Timothy Bagwell, along with two special friends, Peggy Owens and Vickie Freeman.
He was predeceased by a sister, Libby Ann Haynes.
Funeral services with limited seating will be held at 1 PM on Friday January 1, 2021 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Curtis Lanier and Rev. Donnie Norris officiating. Burial will follow in Donalds Baptist Church Cemetery. Masks and social distancing will be required.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 12 to 1PM at Pruitt
