Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late James Arnold, Sr. and Barbara Nickles Stone. He was a member of the Ware Shoals United Methodist Church and had worked at Ware Shoals Plastics.
Surviving are his brother, Jim Stone (Vicki) of Ninety Six, a sister Cathy Stone Elledge (David) of Chapin, and two nephews, Jamie Stone and Nick Elledge.
