Born in Durham, NC, he was a son of Wayne Olin McElroy, Sr. of Troy and the late Frances Sutton McElroy. He was of the Christian Faith. He was a local wrestler with SCW and used the name “Wonderful Wayne”.
Surviving are his wife of the home, two sons, Dusty (Morgan) McElroy of Greenwood and Austin McElroy of Troy, two sisters, Eilene Webber and Irene Ramos, both of Greenwood, two grandchildren, Faith and Isaac McElroy. He was predeceased by a sister, Teresa Hicks.
A Celebration of His Life with family and friends will be from 4 to 8 PM Friday, September 11, 2020 at the home of his sister, 100 Ferry Cove Road, Greenwood, SC.
