Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Ansel Calhoun and Myrtie Gertrude Ashley Branyon. He attended Honea Path First Assembly of God and was a retired construction contractor. Dennis was a veteran of the US Air Force. His favorite hobbies were golfing and bowling.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 52 years of the home are: a son, Danny (Rachael) Branyon of Greenville; his sister, Brenda Jo Whittle of Honea Path; and four grandchildren, Sarah Adeline, Catherine Grace, Phoebe Joy, and Daniel.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Gerald Scott Branyon, and two brothers, Wendall “Buster” Branyon and Gary Thomas Branyon.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, May 31, 2020 at the Branyon residence, 307 Harper Street, Honea Path with Rev. Homer Gilmer, Rev. Tony Smith, and Rev. Bob Koenigsmann officiating. Military Honors will also be presented. The body will be placed there at 2 P.M. Attendees are invited to bring their own lawn chairs. Private burial will follow the service.
