Born in Anderson county, he was a son of the late Ivan and Olivia Brewer Garrett. He was retired from Bonitz, where he worked for 41 years.
In addition to his wife of the home, Mr. Garrett is survived by one son: John Garrett (Victoria) of Starr; five daughters: Olivia Garrett of the home, Gerri McConnell (Kenneth) of Starr, Jackie Zelenko (Jeremy) of Iva, Megan Chapman (Jesse) of Sandy Springs and Kayla Vaughn (Jonathan) of Anderson; four brothers: Wayne Garrett of Princeton, Roger Garrett of Waterloo, Buddy Garrett of Ware Shoals, and Wallace Garrett (Marilyn) of Pendleton; one sister: Lula Bell Ladd (Tommy) of Pendleton; twelve grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Ronnie, Jacky, and Kenneth Garrett; and one sister: Joan Garrett.
Private family graveside services will be held at Memory Gardens in Clemson with Mr. Tommy Ladd officiating.
