Born in Homer, GA, he was a son of the late Jim and Nezzie Nix Veal. He was a member of the W. Main St. Church of God and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a retired heavy equipment operator.
Surviving are his wife of the home, four daughters, Heather Hensley (Laramie) of Ware Shoals, Brandi Nabors of Honea Path, Breann Ferguson (Sloan) of Commerce, GA, and Regina Roth (Ryan) of Halstead, KS, a brother Roger Veal of Maysville, GA, three sisters, Shirley Taylor of Charlotte, NC, Frances King and Eleanor King, both of Georgia, and eight grandchildren.
