Shirley was the original woman of our time. A graduate of Michigan State University, she became a biochemist and a life long member of the Kappa Delta Sorority, for which she remained active throughout her adult life. She raised her children and grand children to always seek knowledge and truth. She became an early advocate for environmental conservation. She traveled often and had a love for learning and documenting her experiences. She believed in the importance of physical activity and discipline, teaching Yoga, Pilates, and senior fitness classes. She always found opportunity and optimism in the most adverse of situations. Above all else was her enduring spirit to always support her family and friends with unconditional love.
She will be missed, loved, and honored.
