Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Fred Thomas and Mattie Simpson Green. He attended Chiquola Baptist Church and was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Green was a retired veteran of the US Navy, having served for 24 years, and in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 64 ½ years of the home are: a son, Stephen Green of Honea Path; a daughter, Lisa Green of Honea Path; four brothers, Alvin Green of Due West, David Green, Carl Green, and Jimmy (Brenda) Green, all of Honea Path; two sisters, Gaynelle Gaillard and Connie (Larry Joe) Mattison, both of Honea Path; nine grandchildren, Stacey Branyon, Lee Lusk, Bryan Green, Nacole Martin, Brooke King, Brandon Green, Natasha Green, Austin Green, and Talatha Green; nine great-grandchildren, Averie Martin, Zoey Green, Keenan Green, Jaida Green, Lucas Lusk, Garren Alexander, Ayden King, Meghan Corley, and Casey King; one great-great grandchild; a special “granddaughter”, Tanya Bagwell; and his beloved pets, Bill, Bella, and TeeTee.
Mr. Green is preceded in death by two sons, Keenan Green and Zane Green.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Steve Lusk officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Garden of Memories.
