Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late John William and Hattie Pearl Chapman Massey. She was a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church and was a retired sales associate from J. Byrons of Miami. During the war she was a Rosie Riveter and she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are a son, John H. Watson (Josephina) of Summerville, two daughters, Sherry Watson Long (Edward Jones) of Simpsonville and Nancy Carol Underwood (Rock) of Chapin, five grandchildren, Bobby Fuller (Lisa), Roxanne Altman, Natalie Underwood, Christina Swink, and Coryna Watson, and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was pre-deceased by three brothers, Wesley, Paul, and Julius Massey, and five sisters, Bessie Massey, Clara Mallonee, Sylvia Karakul, Johnny Massey, and Mildred Massey.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 1 to 2 P.M. at Oak Hill United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM in the Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Renee Garrison and Rev. Ken Kimbrell. Online condolences may be made at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com
