Born in Davenport, Iowa, she was a daughter of the late Hannes and Alvinia Voss Pagel. She was retired as Personnel Manager from K-Mart and later from the Burton Center. She was a member of the Ware Shoals First Baptist Church where she was in the Open Door Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Boyd Bobo Chaper # 144 O.E.S. and the Past Matrons and Patrons Club. She was also a member of the Ware Shoals Womens Civic Club and the Tri County Red Hat Society as well as an avid Carolina Gamecock Fan.

Surviving are a son, Dr. Paul Robert Johnson, Jr. (Carolyn), a daughter, Rita J. Ross of Ware Shoals, daughter-in-law, Diane Johnson of Ware Shoals, ten grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren, In addition to her husband and parents, she was pre-deceased by three sons, David Johnson, Roger Johnson, Thomas Darnin Johnson, and two great-granddaughters, Mia and Elizabeth Edge.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at the Ware Shoals First Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Jones and Rev. Byron Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
