Born in Anderson County she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Myrtie Ashley. She was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. She was active in the Golden Agers and the WMU. She was retired from Monsanto Co.
Surviving are a son, Mike Smith (Diane) of Ware Shoals, a daughter, Judy Smith Barry of Columbia, six grandchildren, Lacey Griffin (Chris), Scott Davenport, Heather Nelson (Jamy), April Clamp (Buck), Brittany Medlin (Lee), and Jerry Free (Mandy), and eleven great-grandchildren, Bradley Nelson (Abbie), Brooke Nelson, Trinity Free, Jayce Medlin, Riley Griffin, Brayden Medlin, Kayde Vanderford, Brady Clamp, Adalyn Free, Ryann Davanport, and Lyndi Davenport She was pre-deceased by a son, Tony Smith, a great-granddaughter, Regan Drakely Griffin, two brothers, Clyde and Louis Ashley, and a sister, Joyce Ashley.
Graveside services will be held at 1 PM Friday, June 14, 2019 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mark Lowe and Rev. Marcus Bishop officiating.
The family is at the home of her son, Mike Smith, 15327 Indian Mound Road, Ware Shoals and will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Parker-White Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Mt.
