She was born in Gray Court and was a daughter of the late Henry Austin and Lucille Owens Martin. She was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church. She was a retired inspector for Hickory Tavern Sportswear and was also a homemaker.
Mrs. Simpson is survived by two sons, Johnny W. Simpson Jr. (Debra) of Abbeville, Keith Simpson (Pat) of Ware Shoals, three daughters, Debbie Moore (Howard) of Honea Path, Carolyn McClellan (Dale) of Boiling Springs, Reba Babb (Lamar) of Ware Shoals, fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one brother, Eugene Martin, one sister, Milree Martin Garrett and two grandchildren
Funeral services for Mrs. Simpson will be held Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Harmony United Methodist Church at 11 AM with Rev. Lamar Babb and Rev. Chris Hudson officiating.
