Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Leaverne “LK” and Myrtle Adair Moore. He was retired from the US Navy after 20 years of service, and served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the V.F.W.
Surviving are: two sons, Joey Moore of Ruffin, SC and Billy (Cindy) Moore of Ware Shoals; a brother, Charles Earl (Betty Sue) Moore of Laurens; four sisters, Rebecca Robertson of Bellview WA, Janice Babb of Simpsonville, Rita (Everette) Babb of Greenville, and Teresa (Mark) Chapman of Simpsonville; two grandchildren, Melissa (Steven) Bouknight and Amy (Stephen) Hashey, and six great-grandchildren, Alexus Hashey, Aden Bouknight, Ashton Hashey, Braydon Hashey, Carson Bouknight and Brody Bouknight.
He was pre-dececeased by a brother, Kenneth Moore and a sister, Clemiegene Arnold.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Marcus Bishop and Rev. Anthony Irby officiating.
